Personal childhood web

The people who helped shape me (Kali):

My mother- I watched her struggle to get to where she is now. She is beautiful, confident, brilliant and dedicated to the children in her educational facility.

My Aunt Dorothy- is a sassy, jazzy, intelligent women that made me believe that I was a women "without borders!' That I could be and do everything positive.
Amina- is a beautiful, vibrant and intelligent women that treated me like a baby sister. She was my mentor and held my hand through a lot of rough events in my life.

Sonia Sanchez-is a beautiful and marvelous writer, activist, and scholar who inspires me to write. I started going to her speaking engagements when I was about twelve. My mother's friend took us every for the next three or four years afterward.

  1. I loved your web and the layout. I can't figure out how to do it. Your interest in writing is evident on your posts. Keep it up!

  2. Sounds like you had wonderful women in your life. I always wanted to be a writer, but my writing skills partially hold me back.

  3. I am betting that you have turned out to be a very strong, creative, upbeat personality just by the way you described the beautiful women who impacted your life.

  4. Kali,

It sounds like you great respect and admiration for the women who have cared for you, loved you, and helped you become the strong individual you are today. But most importantly, it sounds like you have the greatest love, respect and appreciation for your mom! Best of Luck!

  5. Kali, Women seem to be the most influential in our lives. Men are okay but it seems like the women are holding 1st place. I had a hard time trying to think out of the box of people who cared and nurtured me but I can tell that you had a variety of different people. Great post!

  6. I liked your childhood web. You had some great women in your life. I can tell that education was a predestined career for you through the women who shaped you. Great read!

  7. Thank you all for your beautiful words of wisdom and encouragement. I send all that and more to you! I have had many great female influences in my life. There were a few male influences, but nothing compared to the women for which I've mentioned.

For Susan, When I hit post new comment, there are options at the top that allow you to change the color, size, and font. I am learning the process of blogging as I go along.

For Chrissy, I am still working on my writing skills. I took a long break from writing and realized that the more I didn't write, the more complicated it became. I would suggest that you just keep writing and you will find that there is a phenomenal writer within. :-)

For Kat, I only hope that I turned out to be the women that they taught me to be.

For Susana, Words can't express how much I love my mom.

For Jaime, I also have a variety and it was difficult for me as well. When I sat and thought about the people that touched my life, I was happy with the choices I made.

For Chantrell, education was a big part of my life. Everyone had this confidence in me that I have only recently noticed. But the women I mentioned, and others, made me reach down and draw out the excellence that comes from believing that, " With God, all thing are possible."

Thank you all again and I can't wait to read more of your work.

  8. Isn't it a beautiful thing to have so many influential women in our lives?
