The topic of choice for my research would be the benefits of play throughout the life span of a child. I would look at all the factors surrounding the presence of free and structured play from birth through the middle years.
I think that the positive contributions this study would make would be to give educators and policy-makers a bird’s eye view of the effectiveness of play as a medium for growth and development. Just as in Bronfenbrenner's Theory, I too believe that all ecosystems in a child’s life have a direct impact on the development of a child.
Play is so important to the development of a child, we must everything we can to alert the power that be how the lack of play will affect our children.
ReplyDeletePlay is an important factor in a child's life. Children learn a lot from playing and it is important for a child to be given time to play and explore. Play was a subject that was discussed in my last course and as a class we researched children playing and playing being part of the school setting. Recess has always being part of the school day and now schools are trying to take away this free time for children. I say that our children need to play and their little brains needs a break, instead of sitting at a desk all day.
ReplyDeleteExcellent reference to Bronfenbrenner's Theory. I love that theory for some reason. I think this would positive research for children and society in general. I am assuming that children will be exposed to minimal risk with this research.
